"Stay" Theme background colour not updating

I just updated to the Stay theme and changed the background colour in the Customize area. However, it isn’t showing up in the live site. How do I get the whole background to be green instead of just the edges?
(I can send screenshots of the issue but I don’t know how to do that in this format.)

I’m trying to do the same thing with this theme!! Just posted my own question about how to remove that grayish original background; I, too have been trying to make the entire theme white and the background settings do not stay for me either; I’ve even tried uploading a white background image, but it still won’t change. I see it change in the customize settings view, but it keeps going back to the original. Uugggh…
Any resolution on this, anyone??
