Stay Theme – problems with Home Slider and Featured images

I’ve seen a few posts about similar issues to this, but I think I’m doing everything that is suggested in the replies. On my site I have a homepage (‘Welcome’) set as static, Home template, with a home slider. Then each other page has a featured image to pull through to the homepage.
As I was developing this site I tried this out with photos of my cat, and it worked fine. However, now I have been trying to replace the photos with the proper ones of the person the site is for, and although it is accepting them as featured images (showing them in the right hand corner of the page developer) it no longer shows them at the top of each page, or in the home slider. The home slider is still set up to link to the correct pages – it just doesn’t show the image.
For example the contacts page should have a featured image at the top, and this was previously working in the home slider.
It’s weird that it was working fine before, and not now just as I’m substituting the photos. Even if I go back to the old photo, it doesn’t work.

I think I might have got to the root of the problem… Possibly. I think the images I was trying out were very small (only 40KB) or so, so maybe it just won’t accept them. I would be more helpful to have an alert that tells is that though! Maybe have a look and see if that might be why you’re having this issue too?

Minimum width for featured images on Stay is 960px, ideal width for the slider is 1200px.
