Stay theme: Reservations widget activation

Hi, tried posting this on the Forums but no response and have a bit of an urgent need to resolve this so that I can launch my site. I’m using the Stay theme for my blog-in-progress sailusvis.com, and I see the Reservations widget and have added it to my header area but it is not displaying as in the theme’s sample site. I read something about this being available if you set your site up through Hotels/WordPress , but I did not do that as my site was already set up and there’s no option to add an existing site. Also, the widget is available, just not functional. Any tips on how to set up this widget and get it to “work”?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Howdy,

It isn’t working for me either and my initial investigation wasn’t fruitful on the cause. I’m asking our developers to assist in determining what’s going on and resolving it.

My apologies for the inconvenience and we’ll let you know as soon as we have an update.

    Thanks!

Thanks, kraftbj, it seems to be working for me now, once I checked the boxes in the widget configuration it then appeared. But if you haven’t reached out to the developers yet I have a coupla’ more questions: 1) is there any customization possible? For example, I’m doing this site for a sailing school and charter company, and I thought I’d be able to link the specific boats to the reservation widget (as someone with a hotel might link rooms) so that users are checking specific availability and I know which boat they want to reserve. As it is now it’s not too functional as it just provides overall availability and a user couldn’t reserve a specific room. 2) How can I set who receives notifications of reservations inquiries (and for that matter, I can’t see how to change the designee for the Contact form either – on other themes I’ve been able do that simply by editing the source text for the form.) Thanks in advance!

kraftbj, and thoughts on my questions above? especially need some help with configuring who receives responses to the Contact and Reservations forms – I can see any place to do this, could really use your help as I’m trying to launch the site. anyone? thanks!

  • I apologize for the delay.

The default forms will be sent to the e-mail address that’s set in the Settings->General for the site administrator. At this time, there is not a way to edit the recipient for the widget.

Likewise, there is not an option currently to add specific options (rooms, boats, etc).

My apologies again for the delay. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great weekend.
