Staying logged in

I have to log in now each time I post a comment on a blog. In the past I stayed logged in. How can it be changed back so I don’t have to log in for each comment I make?

It would depend on the blog you are making a comment on. Are you trying to make comments in the same browser using which you are logged into WordPress.com?

Can you share the website address of a blog where you are trying to make a comment and it’s asking you to log in again?

Thanks so much for your attention to this issue…it’s been such a source of frustration. I went several months without attempting to make any comments and it worked fine without logging in every time before that period.

I checked the website you shared. I can make comments on this website even when I am not logged into WordPress.com. I just need to add my name and email address and I am good to make comments. I am not sure why you are being asked to log in to make a comment on this site. Can you give it a try again?

Sorry, I reread your comment. I want the ability to use the avatar as I don’t want my email address to show on comments

ok I went back and entered my email address and it brings up the avatar and sends me to wordpress where it says I am not logged in so it requires me to log in to word press

I entered a couple of posts in answer to your comment above but they no longer appear so here goes again. I did try again and get the same results.
In the past I was somehow logged in I guess because every time I made a comment it automatically brought up my user name and avatar. The avatar appeared at the top right of the screen as it does here when I am logged in and also a white bell that shows comments read and unread responses, etc.
I’ve also tried logging into avatar but it all seems like I am logged in even though the site says I am not. Is the issue with CTH?

Do you have this issue in other browsers of just the one you are currently using? It would be great if you could check whether cookies are enabled in your browser by visiting this link:

Just let me know and we can go from there.

cookies are enabled on google chrome.
IE uses the WP account for comments and the top right does show my avatar but does not have most recent responses to comments. The newest shows older than a week and I have read responses today even. I can also “like” comments with IE.IE has a much slower response time and continuously gives the “long running script” message so it is not my preference and not what I have always used.

Hi Judy,
It sounds like you are able to comment on multiple posts using IE without being prompted to log back in each time. Is that correct?
I’m just trying to pinpoint where the issue may be :)
