Step 5 of New blog Set Up – 'Pick a Plan That's Right For You' Showing no options in
-
Hey there – I normally use self-hosted WordPress but I have recommended to an associate to try out the free option to trial WordPress on WordPress.com
When they go through the simple set up steps they get stuck on Step 5 – It asks ‘Pick a plan that’s right for you’ and 4 blank box outlines show with no details. It appears as if something is trying to load (flashing boxes) but nothing is rendering.
I’ve tested my end and the same issue is occurring – but only in Safari and Firefox browsers? All fine in Chrome.
Wondering if this is a known issue/if anyone else is experiencing the same.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Chose a plan because if you don’t you will not be able to move on. Did you try selecting the free plan? I’m asking bacuse one can always upgrade after they register a free URL first.

Hi there,
Thanks for reporting this. We have had a few other reports via social media and we’re looking into the issue, though some people are experiencing it on Chrome as well.
Can you please ask your friend if they’d be willing that you give me their email address so I can contact them to get more information to help us troubleshoot this? The email address will be hidden if you post it here, but I’ll be able to see it. Then I can follow up with them directly.

I’ve come on to the forum seeking help for the same problem. I’ve been going through the process to create a new blog for a new project – so new email details/profile etc. The system gets stuck at Step 5 of 6 “Pick a Plan that’s right for you” – all of the options are greyed out and its not possible to get through to Step 6 which I guess is the final registration.
I’m using Chrome (Version 51.0.2704.103 m) and also tried it on Microsoft Edge with same results .
Hoping for a speedy resolution. -
Hi, I have the same problem, very frustrating as I’ve tried on Chrome and Firefox and the same problem persists even after restarting the computer.

@mybraindesigns and @brummieliz
Thank you for posting here. You are the first reports we’ve had from people who already have accounts, which is great as hopefully we’ll be able to better troubleshoot it now. You can only get so much information from someone via Twitter :)
1) Just to confirm, were you trying to add a new site to your account? Or were you trying to create a completely new account as well? And on the Pick a domain page, did you select a custom domain or a free URL?
2) Can you please take a screen shot of the page that’s not loading, including the URL in your browser address bar?
3) Can you please view the browser console on that page and take a screen shot any JavaScript errors. You can find instructions how to do that here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/advanced-browser-troubleshooting/#javascript-errorsPlease upload the screen shots to the media library for one of your sites, and let me know which site in a reply to this thread. Then I can give that info to our developers who are working on this issue.

Had a break pursuing other tasks but tried this again today – and issue appears to have been resolved. So able to select the free plan and am now well on the way to publishing the first post on new blog site. Fingers crossed for no more glitches.
