Step-by-step Orvis help

  Hi!

  I’m new to WordPress and I’m trying to lay out my blog like the Orvis demo. I tried to work it out myself but got very confused so deleted the (empty) pages I had tried to set up so I can start from scratch. I have made one post so far, but I want it to be on a separate ‘blog’ page. I want the portfolio feature to be my home page. Could someone please help walk me through this process of setting up my blog?
