Stepmap contents compatible with/in wordpress ?
-
My imported maps from “stepmap” are not available anymore on my wordpress travelblog (cyclingdreamcatchers.wordpress.com). They just vanished a couple of days ago and now all you can see instead of my map it states the following quote:
“stepmap – design your map
This map is private or does not exist anymore
We ask your understanding
Create your individual map on stepmap
http://www.stepmap.de”Example: Route -> Europa und Asien, Südostasien, Australien
Maps are still shown as “little preview” in dashboard and the mask, but not on the final homepage/travelblog. I contacted stepmap support team and they clearified that it is not a system fault on their behalf. It must be, that when wordpress is processing HTML, it is filtering, altering or even replacing some contents (maybe of the source code or whatever).
My question and request is that WORDPRESS support team should please check on the matter and help me with this inconvenient problem. I hope the engineers of happines can solve this issue.
Contact me asap under my wordpress account or via my Email (email visible only to moderators and staff)!
Thank you very much in advance.

As far as I know the only map embeds that work here are Google map embeds http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/

Thanks for responding !
Stepmap used to work all the time before for more than 1 1/2 years now up to some point last week, when it just stopped.
Thanks for your help, will wait for input from staff assistance.Cheers.

Hi Joe,
Our team hasn’t been able to create a fix for this yet, but I found one workaround that you might want to try.
Right now, your maps are embedded with image code like this:
<img style="top: 0; left: 0; width: 753px; height: 422px;" src="http://www.stepmap.de/getmapimg.php?id=1317423&w=640&m=2&embed=4649390e0a4d3ca5d1929b3647c3c6f39176d236" alt="aktuelle Karte ab 09/13" usemap="#stepmapexportimg1317423_640" border="0" />You can view that code by switching from the Visual tab to the Text tab in the editor. Then, if you switch the link so it starts with https instead of http, the map should work again. (That changed worked for me when I tested it out.) With that change, the code will look like this:
<img style="top: 0; left: 0; width: 753px; height: 422px;" src="https://www.stepmap.de/getmapimg.php?id=1317423&w=640&m=2&embed=4649390e0a4d3ca5d1929b3647c3c6f39176d236" alt="aktuelle Karte ab 09/13" usemap="#stepmapexportimg1317423_640" border="0" />Please let me know how that workaround works for you!
