Steps for mapping a domain: purchase a plan and a mapping subscription first?

Hello. I’m trying to set up a new account and need to map a domain to the WordPress site. When I clicked on a particular pay plan, I was taken to the ‘Create a site’ page. However, I seem to be stalled on the ‘Let’s get your site a domain!’ page, which says that I can map only with a paid plan. According to this page: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
… I know how to update the Nameservers, but I need to have an upgraded WordPress plan + a mapping subscription first. So, my question is, how do I set up the plan and pay the mapping subscription in order that I may then map my domain?

Based on what I can see, it looks like you were able to purchase a plan and get this sorted out.

Yes, that’s what happened … eventually, the “create a site” page allowed me to proceed — which is why I turned the status of this message to “resolved.”
