stick to the front page not showing up
-
Hi,
I am working on a blog post and ‘Stick to the Front Page’ is not showing up as an option. for my latest post. When I read about it in your FAQs section, I discovered that I don’t need to do this every time. I tried to go back into older posts to uncheck this box on all of them and it is not showing up there either. Can you tell me whatI am doing wrong?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That problem has also been reported here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/sticky-post-option?replies=3
There seems to be a temporary issue with the sticky post option in the My Sites dashboard but the function appears to still work via the wp-admin dashboard found by adding /wp-admin to the end of your address. When editing a post there scroll down to the bottom left and click “edit” next to “visibility”.

Howdy –
Thanks for getting in touch about this. I want to confirm that y’all are able to still use this function through the classic editor at /wp-admin/ ?
I’ve reported this case to our developers through GitHub and you can follow along there: https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso/issues/18217

staff-zinnia I can confirm the sticky post function works fine using the WP Admin dashboard but the tickbox/option isn’t visible at all in the Calypso dashboard.

I am not very tech savvy and don’t know how to make the WP Admin dashboard work–I had never even heard of it until this thread. I always go through the button where it says “Write” to to create and edit my posts.
When I go in to edit, I was able to take everything off “sticky” when I clicked on the little ribbon symbol in the upper right corner, but that disappeared once I clicked it, so I would not be able to make anything stick to the front page if I wanted to at the moment.
Also, the “More Options” tab on the “Post Settings” menu has been only dropping down about half the time when I try and click on it.
Thanks for all your help and patience with someone with such rudimentary knowledge of the site!

@classroomandkitchen I was going to explain how to reach the “old” WP Admin dashboard but there is no need as the sticky function has now been restored in the My Sites dashboard.
staff-zinnia It is interesting to read any “GitHub” thread to peek behind the scenes and see in action how the ever-changing WordPress code is worked on. I too think the orange flag icon as well as the sticky toggle (those toggles in general are poor as they only move slightly and change from grey to grey/blue) in Post Settings duplicates functionality and can be confusing to new users.

From a new user, I didn’t even realize you could click on the orange flag icon to do anything until yesterday when I started to try and figure out my issues with the missing toggle switch. I thought it just was something that showed up to tell you that you had the post stuck to the front page.
