Stickied Post in Garland Theme?
-
This is probably a really obvious question, but how do I make the header of the stickied post on the front page a different colour? I changed the colour scheme to an orange-yellow, but the stickied post is still blue. Any way you can change that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can change the background color behind the text. See here > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/09/19/background-color-to-text/

I’m sort of a WordPress noob . . . how would I implement the HTML in your blog post? Love your blog by the way. :P

If you wish you can choose to have only the HTML editor rather than having the option of switching back and forth from “Visual” to “Code” (html) in the editor.
>Users > Profile
Visual Editor ____ Disable the visual editor when writing – checkmark and then click “Update Profile” -
-
You will have to choose a color (hexadecimal number) and insert it into the code supplied in the post at the link I posted in my first reply.
If you lack coding skills then for heaven’s sake do not “Disable the visual editor when writing”.
-
Don’t worry, I have no plan of disabling the visual editor. I understand what the code does, but it doesn’t seem to affect the title of the actual post. Sorry, I’m really horrible at HTML. :o
-
This is the code but it lacks a hexidecimal color number #HEX_HERE
You have to find the one that matches your background and insert the color code to replace HEX_HERE<div style="padding:1.2em;background-color:#HEX_HERE;line-height:1.4;"> TEXT_HERE </div> ' If you did not replace HEX_HERE with a color number there then it will not change. -

I don’t honestly think you can change much relating to titles without a solid understanding of CSS editing and the paid CSS upgrade. Titles are a special case.

No,you have misunderstood.
When you click the link T provided this is what Panos says:
For a block of text enclosed in a colored background (like the example below), you can use this code (in the html post or page editor, or in text widgets):

@timethief: The OP isn’t referring to the main text area. The question was about the title bar of sticky posts (a basic blue in Garland); as raincoaster says, you can’t change its color without the CSS upgrade.
@canarygames: Since Garland is color customizable, to me it’s a mistake that the sticky title bar cannot be changed. I’ll send a suggestion to staff. In the meantime, better forget sticky posts and use a text widget instead (I think you’ve already done that).
