Sticky Button Gone

At some point in the last several months my sticky button has disappeared. I’m unable to get my newest blog posts to show up on my home/start page. They show up under ‘Latest Posts’ and under their respective categories but not on my start page.

I’ve changed my theme several times to see if this is the problem. I’ve tried checking the ‘cover’ button under catagories to no avail. Please help! Anyone checking out my page will think I haven’t posted in months and months.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yeah it moved to the publish gear on the left hand side at one point and as of today 6/14/16 it is completely gone! WordPress sucks.

    Thanks korikay.
Anyone know any way to get a front page that does show the latest blog posts? I’m more than willing to change theme or whatever.

My best guess is that your front page has somehow become a static page.

To change this, try going here:
    https:// 30nevermind.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php?return=%2Fwp-admin%2F

Click on Static Front Page and then make sure ‘Your latest posts’ is selected. Don’t forget to click Save & Activate before you go.

    Did that fix it?

I am pleased that I now know the word solivagant,

Thanks so much for the response, Jason. Unfortunately, “Your Latest Posts” was already selected on my static page. I tried setting it to Static (then save/activate) and back to Latest Posts (and save/activate) to no avail.

    Any other ideas?

Update: When I go under the old editor, not the “New/Improved” I am able to find Sticky under Publish- Visibility. Which does add it back to the front page.
However, this is quite clunky and hard to find when publishing new posts.

I have come back with solutions!

    1) To make posts stick using the NEW editor, all you have to do is click on the little gear on the left side of the page, and then click on the button next to where it says Stick to the front page. I’ve made you a picture!

    2) For all the posts you want to move to the front page, you can do this all at once in your All Posts page using a Bulk Action. Here’s your All Posts page:
    https://30nevermind.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php

Check all the posts you want to move to the front page, then click on the drop down box where it says Bulk Actions and change it to Edit, then click on Apply. Look, a helpful screenshot!

    3) Find the Drop down box next to where it says Sticky. Change the box to say Sticky, then click Update. Another helpful screenshot!
