Sticky Post

    Hi:

    I am using the Harmonic theme. The post “I Went Home and Could NOT Believe This Happened!” is suppose to be a sticky post. I labeled it as a sticky post but it is not showing up on the top. When I make a new post it keeps bringing it down and organizing the post according to most recent dates.

    Is there a CSS code to keep it at the top, please?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Sticky posts work on the blog page, but you haven’t yet assigned any page for your blog posts.

    Here are the steps to get that working:

    1. Create a blank page called Blog (or News, or whatever you prefer.)

    2. Open your Customizer.

    3. Open the panel called Static Front page.

    4. Under “Posts Page” select the new Blog page you created.

    5. Add a link to your new Blog in your custom menu so visitors can find it. Your sticky post should appear first on the page.

    Let me know how it goes.

    Hi kathrynwp:

    The instructions worked great.
    However, I now lost the “What’s Been Happening?” title. Anyway to get the title bar back before the blog entries?

  • Great! I didn’t see what you had before, but you could “fake” a page title on the blog page with something like this:

    .blog .site-main::before {
        content: "What's Been Happening?";
        display: block;
        font-family: "brandon-grotesque-1","brandon-grotesque-2",sans-serif;
        font-size: 6.4rem;
        line-height: 1;
        border-bottom: 2px solid #999;
        margin-bottom: 40px;
        padding: 0 0 30px;
    }

  • My pleasure! And congrats on your engagement. :)

    I’ll mark this thread as resolved but feel free to start a new one if you need help with anything else.
