Sticky post heading appears on front static page
-
I have chosen to have a static front page called ‘Welcome.’
If I post a blog to the now designated blog page ‘Pam’s Blog’ it appears and all is as expected. If however, I now make that post sticky the heading (but not the content) appears on the ‘Welcome’ page.
Is this an error on my part somehow or a bug?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s a feature of your theme, Twenty-Fourteen. It displays featured posts in a slider on the home page, but if you don’t have any posts set as featured, it displays sticky posts instead. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyfourteen/
I don’t know if it’s possible to disable this feature, but using a regular static page as your homepage instead of the default one should do the trick. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

Thanks kokkieh. That answers my question.
Sometimes it’s hard to tell a feature from a bug :-) <sigh>
