Sticky post not showing up correctly
-
I’m setting up a test site for our School and want to have a standard “Welcome” post that will remain at the top of the page. I setup the post, checked the Sticky box, and published it. I then created a second post, did NOT check the sticky box, and posted it.
The stickied post is not showing anything except the title. I want it to show the hole post just like a regular post. Am I doing something wrong or is something whacky with my site?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I think this is because of the default Front page setting in Twenty Fourteen theme.
Please go to Appearance > Customize > Front > select “A static page”.
Your sticky post will appear at the top of the page. But this also means you are missing out on Featured Content and Featured Images that can be prominently displayed in a grid or a slider, and controlled by the “featured” post tag.

I don’t want to have a Static Page, I just want the Sticky post to stay at the top of all the other posts in the regular post section. It looks as if the site has something wrong with it when I view it right now. Is that how it’s supposed to look when I make a post Sticky?

I picked a different theme and now it’s looking how it should. It’s too bad that 2014 automatically uses Stickied posts in the Features section with no way to turn that off…

I see that you chose Twenty Thirteen.
Twenty Fourteen is a magazine type theme hence the featured content shows up by default. You can add a nice feature image which shows up on that black space of your welcome post.
However please don’t waste your time if your are happy with Twenty Thirteen. :-)
