Sticky posts do not appear on front page
-
after a whole day of searching for an answer online I still wasn’t able to make my sticky posts appear on my home page. I put my home page as static front page, I made a testpost that was sticky but nothing is appearing on the frontpage. I deleted cookies and ordered my pages so that the homepage is the first one but still it’s not working, the blog is currently on private because it’s under construction. I used a blog that I’m an author on to have a look at all the settings and for now I’m even using the same theme ‘oxygen’ to compare both blogs, but the settings all seem to be the same, but the other/older page does display the stickies. what else can I do? thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Pages you create, and set as a static home page will not typically get posts, unless you are using a theme with a showcase page template, and are using that.
Since your site is private, we cannot see it, we can’t really tell what is going on. Did you set the showcase page template for the page you are using for your main page in the page editor?

As TSP said, we cannot tell what’s wrong if cannot see the blog. If you wish, you can temporarily switch to the middle privacy option in Settings > Reading.

On Oxygen, a post will show in the slider if
a) you mark it as a sticky,
b) you set a featured image to it,
c) the featured image is wide enough,
d) it doesn’t exceed the number of posts the slider can display (six).Your two posts are stickies, but “test2” has no featured image, and “testpost” has a 689px wide featured image. The slider requires featured images that are at least 750px wide.
