sticky posts not showing on front page – Suburbia

    I am trying to get a Suburbia theme site to look like the demo (except 1 column at the top). That is, I want a large picture at the top, and I want 5 smaller images below. I have tried everything I’ve found in the forums on this topic, and I have tried changing every setting I could imagine to be relevant. I cannot get my site to look like the demo. I either get a front page (a page) with no posts or I get a front page (actually a post) of all posts, with no big top image. I am at wits end.

    I tried out the Triton Lite them with the same result.

    I know I must be missing something terribly obvious.

    To get this working —

    1) Is the front page supposed to be a static page, not a post?

    2) The posts are sticky, with featured images at the suggested size ( 350 X 240). Am I supposed to upload a separate thumbnail size version for the front page, and if so how do I tell it to go to the front page?

    3) What am I doing wrong?

    I will REALLY appreciate some help. I’ve tried asking several times in the forums and followed all suggestions and am still not getting it right. I’m wasting HOURS!

    Just a thought, because I did this wrong at first and saw your question when I was looking for help– make sure that when you upload your featured image, you click on “set as featured image” and not “insert into post.” I made that mistake and it adds the picture into the actual post but not the preview thing that shows up on the home page. I hope this helps.

    On the main page, Suburbia doesn’t display regularly inserted images. They only display when a post is viewed on its own page – not on the front page.

    To have front page image display you need to set a featured image to each post and make each post a sticky post. The size of the featured image does matter. The featured image works best with images at least 350 by 248 (width, height).
