Sticky Posts vs. Slideshow

    I am trying to pick a new theme! We’ve been using the same one for a long time and transitioning from just a blog to a website. I really want the homepage to have large picture that slides 3-5 times. In picking a theme, I was looking at ones with a “Post slider.” But, considering that I may or may not want these pictures to be posts or not, I’m wondering if what I’m looking for can be done with a theme that does not have a post slider by putting in a slideshow. I have been looking at themes for so very long, but sometimes all the options still make me dizzy. I really just want a theme with all the options I could possibly want, and then I’ll edit it with the custom upgrade. “Newsy” seems like it would be good. Can I do a slider on the homepage with that one?

    Do you mean a fixed set of images, no matter what the posts on the front page? In the header area or in the main content area?
