Sticky Suggestion
-
There seems to be a common problem with confusion over .com and .org when so many bloggers end up here on this forum instead of .org, so maybe it is time for a sticky to highlight this main factor alone before posting?
This will prevent the laborious task of WordPress Mods, Staff and volunteers having to keep repeating redirections.I note the issue is already covered in Supernovas excellent Best Practices & Community Standards sticky, but it needs to be more prominent. In my opinion.
Maybe turn it into a pop up when somebody tries to start a new thread?Regards

Hi there!
This is a great idea and one we have already considered, however, even the sticky posts are not read as often as we would like to.
Many of the users that post here don’t really know where their site is hosted and also, on some instances, we can help users with self-hosted sites if their questions are regarding our apps or their site is connected to their WordPress.com account through Jetpack so we prefer to check those posts and evaluate if we can help or not. -
I think it might be time to create a portal where users who aren’t supposed to post here are sent.
It will help reduce the spammers too.No disrespect, but priority should go to those entitled to post here with established blogs.
In all the years I’ve used WordPress ( had previous blogs), the same problems exist. A new forum layout will freshen things up too if it’s not too much to ask!
;-)
I have some other suggestions which will help WordPress, but I don’t want them publicly displayed. -
One thing we run into many times every day = folks who are evaluating whether to use our services. We want to let them post here.
We do try to deter folks from posting here if they aren’t logged into WordPress.com before they find our help page.
We’ll share your feedback though. :)
