Still cannot delete a registered domain

  • Unknown's avatar

Still can’t delete my registerd domain. I deleted my site and forgot to delete the DNS and get a refund. Now I’m trying to get a refund and redirect my custom DNS domain but I’m getting an error message saying the domain is pointed to my old/deleted blog.

    Wtf ! What gives?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Staff will have to remove the domain mapping for http://djrenaissanceman.com/ That’s normally done prior to deleting the underlying site that being domain mapped from. I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

djrenaissanceman.com is registered at Register.com and pointed to Register.com

    Is that what you want?

Note: that means that there is nothing to change here unless you want to buy a site redirect for djren2010.wordpress.com. to send traffic to your new site since it looks like you are moving off WordPress.COM

Is there something else you want to do? If so what is it? Note on refunds you have 30 days to get a refund on Upgrades except for domain registration which is 48 hours.

I own djrenaissanceman.com — I pointed it back to the default settings (Register.com) because I thought that this would allow me to redirect my domain name to the new blog. But, WordPress is saying that there has been no change (despite me redirecting my djrenaissanceman.com to the default/register.com settings).

Plus, there’s still the issue that I’ve been trying to resolve for the last 2.5 days. I deleted my website but forgot to cancel the DNS custom domain option I bought from the “Store.” I’d like my money back – I’ve been trying to find a staff member from WordPress to get my refund. I deleted the site that had the DNS option about 6 hours after I bout the DNS option (and I know I have 2 days to get a refund). I’m hoping since there is no real way to contact customer support for WordPress that a staff member will magically pop up — read my requests in the forums (djwillpwr.wordpress / djren2010.wordpress ) and I’ll get my money back and I’ll get a to redirect my DNS. OTherwise, I’m gonna have to leave wordpress and go blog somewhere else.

Good customer service is a must if I’m going to be spending my money on a website (and the same goes for my DJ friends who are looking to start their own websites and blogs. I might just refer them else where if this can’t issue can’t get resolved soon).

    This is bad for business.

You are talking to volunteers. I don’t really care, nor do my fellow volunteers, about WP.com’s business outlook. Refer your friends wherever you like.

Someone flagged this thread for staff attention; staff work from the oldest threads to the newest, so don’t post to it again or you’ll push it to the back of the line again.

If you didn’t care why’d you respond. First, if you’re not a staff member then CLEARLY I’m not talking to you. Second, “this is bad for business” for me. Fuck Off “where ever you’d like.”

And if you know that posting to this thread pushes it back then why’d you post to begin with. That’s counter intuitive. Go blog or something. Your thoughts are worthless here.

I posted to tell you that posting here pushes it back. Congratulations on doing it twice more.

The forums are administered by volunteers. If you want to talk to staff either you wait till they respond to the flagging of the thread (without posting again) or you email support @ wordpress . com and you wait. There’s currently a seven page backlog on technical issues, and here you go, back to the back of the line.

Is there a WordPress.COM blog that you want djrenaissanceman.com to be directed to? If so what is that URL

    http://djren2010.wordpress.com/ is alive and well

What is the blog you deleted and need the mapping cleared from or refunded?

Note also that if you are posting under several different names, you will distort the very fabric of space and time and cause even the staff problems

The above info will be needed for the staff to help you.

Note also that you can have Upgrades moved from one blog to another so maybe you don’t need a refund but just need an upgrade moved from a blog you lost access to?

If that is the case and you want a transfer (or refund) either one must be ask by the account that owns the upgrade, the staff will not refund anything or move anything unless ask specifically in small clear words by the owners of the Upgrades

  • If I followed and understood this correctly, everything has been resolved by removing the lingering domain mapping from the other thread.

Typically, we try to keep staff response times to within a day, though weekends do negatively impact that.

If you have any other questions or need anything else, please let me know.

  • Also, djren2010, I realize you’re frustrated, but please do refrain from abusing the volunteers who aren’t at fault in this. They’re only trying to help.

  • @djren2010 – I deleted your most recent response. I ask that you kindly discontinue the use of the language or you’ll be banned from using the forums. The Forums Code of Conduct can be found at: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-forums-code-of-conduct
