Hi,
Did you get this sorted out? I’m seeing your custom domain pointing to http://faithinfilmguy.wordpress.com/ correctly. However, if that ISN’T correct and you really wanted a different domain to be connected to http://faithinfilmguy.wordpress.com/ , please let us know and we can dig into it a bit more.

No I did not. I don’t know how it is still associated with the faithinfilmguy site That was one I did 5-6 years ago. I want it connected to lifewriting101.blog the domain I just purchased.

Hi there!
So what happened here is that instead of creating a new site, you registered a new domain on the existing site at faithinfilmguy.wordpress.com. That’s why the domain redirects you to faithinfilmguy.wordpress.com. And because the domain is already registered, you can’t register it again.
No worries, though! Here’s what you can do next:
- Go to https://wordpress.com/start and create a new site.
- When entering a domain, enter something like lifewriting101blog.wordpress.com. This is just an example; you can enter anything. The idea is to choose a .wordpress.com address instead of entering the domain that’s already registered.
- You’ll also want to choose a WordPress.com plan, which is needed to set a custom domain as the primary address.
- Once the new site has been created, follow the steps at the link below to move the domain from faithinfilmguy.wordpress.com to your new site.
This guide will show you how to transfer a domain to another website on WordPress.com. The steps shown below apply both to domains registered with WordPress.com and connected domains that are registered with another provider. Step One: Join the New SiteStep Two: Move the DomainStep Three: Complete the Move Step One: Join the New Site If you are moving the domain to another site you alreIf you’re not sure which plan is right for you, feel free to tell us a bit about the new site you’re building. If it’s a personal blog, you can get started with the WordPress.com Personal plan. You can always upgrade to a higher plan later if you need more features.
Hope that helps! Feel free to let us know if there’s anything else you need and we’ll be happy to help.
