Still can’t view posts

  I guess I must be slower than I thought. I have read as much as I can about setting up my blog but I seem unable to do the following at http://trvlkid.wordpress.com/

  I would like to have a page or category (I’m so confused) at the top of my page with a drop down that viewers can click that will will show different topics i.e. food, adventure, travel. Within each topic would be the posts for those subjects.

  Can someone please help me get this right?

  Hi again Trvlkid,

  That’s fairly complex, actually–so don’t feel bad. It sounds like you want categories with a custom menu. What you’ll want to do is…

  1) Create the categories you want to see up there:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/category-management/
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-categories/

  2) Create a custom menu and add those categories as top level items in your menu:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

  3) Write new posts and label them with the appropriate categories

  Well after a week of scratching my head and reading reading reading, something finally cliked, though I’m not sure what. Thank you to all who helped me understand. My posts are now up, grouped together, not on my home page, and its pretty cool.
