Still no Image Carousel with Links?

    I think there have been quite a number of old threads on this topic, and I think many really wanted this feature, so I wanted to ask if there’s are new developments. Is it still not possible to create image carousels with individual links and put them on pages?

    At the moment, I just placed an image slideshow on my blog for the “highlights” section but it would be much, much better if the images on the slideshow are clickable and are linked to the actual posts they came from.

    Hi there,

    You’re right this is an often-requested feature. But it is also technically a very difficult feature to implement the way regular WordPress galleries work – it would require essentially redesigning and rebuilding the gallery feature from scratch, and it’s not something our developers are currently working on.

    The galleries created via the Coblocks Collage and Masonry blocks which are available on WordPress.com via a pre-installed plugin allow you to link images in those galleries to individual URLs, but there is no way to do this with a slideshow, or from within the gallery carousel.
