still required to log in with old address

Hi! I am finding WP totally frustrating at the moment. Last week, with help from lovely people here, I changed my email address, user name and password to new ones, in order to have an inactive account. I want to be able to just comment on blogs I follow without having to log into a WP account every single time. Things seemed to be okay, but this evening, when I tried to post a comment with my previous email address and username, WP required me to log in again. Of course I couldn’t, neither the old or new passwords worked because I no longer have an account with that original email address. I hope you can help, this is driving me nuts! I just want out of WP!!

Supernovia, how do I let you know what email I’m trying to comment with without posting it on a public thread? Sorry, I am totally unfamiliar with the way WP works, I only set up an account in order to be a co-editor on a private blog. -

You’d just post it. Sorry I forgot to mention that our forum software will automatically redact the address so that only staff can see it.

Thanks. The original email address that I’m trying to comment with is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

And now I’ve just discovered that post notifications from the blogs I was subscribed to originally with the old address no longer land in my inbox. Setting up a WP account was not a good move :-(

@deziremzzem it may have been hooked up to your Gravatar as well. We’ve removed it for you, so please wait a few hours then try commenting again, and let us know if you still have trouble. Thanks!
