Have read this:

My understanding is that getting a get.blog domain to work with a WordPress.com site is a manual process that WordPress.com site staff have to do as they have yet to provide an automated process for us users.
Beginning to think that I should be using GoDaddy & HostGator WordPress solutions.

Hi James,
I just wanted to let you know we have received your email about the domain. We’ll follow up with you there shortly.
Thanks for your patience!

H’lo Gemma
Thanks for the update. Since I sent that email, I’ve done quite a bit of reading around the WordPress product and answered much of what I was asking – however, I look forward to seeing if I get the same answers from you guys.
Hope to receive a more substantive response today or tomorrow as I would like to get some blogs published this weekend.
