Stock Levels Reverting

My stock levels keep reverting to previous levels anytime I update them manually. For example, in a variable product, I will get new stock and change the number from -5 to 10. I save it and check the website and everything looks good. Then I go back to product page to check again, and the product shows out of stock again, having reverted back to -5. All I could find on the forum was some generic stuff about plugins. The person who set up the webpage and plugins is no longer with us, and I’m not sure what he did, but it’s very frustrating, and I can’t track my inventory properly. Any advice or help would be great.
