Stolen Domain
-
I have been paying for the domain ‘sanantoniobe.org’ for several years, every January.
I recently found out that we lost that domain, even though I have a receipt saying my annual payment was received in January 2024.
How could you have released a paid-for and active site? To who shall I complain? Or sue?WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

According to https://completedns.com/dns-history/ that domain expired on Feb 17, 2024. Someone else bought that domain on Apr 8, 2024.
You must wait untill a Staff member is available, because they can dig in the system to find out what happened.

The domain did not expire in February. I have proof that it was mine through January of 2025. That’s what makes me so doggone mad about the theft.

Hi there!
I see that you’ve been paying us to map or connect this domain for several years now. It was never registered with us. It was a Domain Connection subscription.
You can confirm this by going to https://wordpress.com/me/billing and viewing your receipts. On the older receipts, it will say Domain Mapping.
To clarify, a Domain Connection lets you ‘connect’ an existing domain you own through another registrar. It doesn’t mean you own the domain through us at WordPress.com. Even with a Domain Connection, you still need to ensure the domain is renewed and pointed to your WordPress.com site from your domain registrar’s end.
Your domain registrar is the company that you pay to register and renew the domain. For sanantoniobe.org, it’s not us, as you never registered it with WordPress.com.
I’d suggest contacting your domain registrar to see if they can help you get the domain back.
