Stolen info

I used WordPress chat yesterday and gave the rep my info. Now my website has an intruder and someone has stolen the password and added an unauthorized user.
WP.com: Unknown
Jetpack: Yes
Correct account: Unknown -
Word press has the worst Outback Indian call center full of scammers I’ve ever seen. Bring jobs back to America. Less Indians in the call center, more Americans. Garbage customer service.

Hi there, that’s regrettable, but WordPress.com, the hosting provider where we are, does not have a call center at all. All support is written, either via LiveChat, email or here in these forums. https://wordpress.com/support/help-support-options/
If you spoke to someone by phone, it wasn’t here.
For assistance in recovering your site, try contacting your web hosting provider directly. You can also post to the volunteer forums for the WordPress opensource software itself on the ORG site at https://wordpress.org/support/ where they have more experience with the software you’re using.
Just to clarify, this support forum you’ve posted to assists users with free websites hosted on WordPress.com, the hosting provider. More info on the differences at https://wordpress.org/support/article/wordpress-vs-wordpress-com/

All of this was done through the WordPress chat. Very bold as they even give you the transcripts of the chat at the end. It’s all a bit of smoke and mirrors. I don’t even have a leg to stand on despite getting the word press emails stating an intruder has changed my login info.

The real comical bit is how fast these services pass the hat off to another tech company. I’ve accused a WordPress employee of boldly stealing information and the suggestion is to reach out to the domain provider lol. Such a joke. No wonder these scammers are all over- zero punishment or pursuit despite copious details of wrong doing

Thanks for that. We cannot help because we don’t host your site directly on our WordPress.com managed hosting. Instead, your site is hosted with Bluehost, and we’re not able to access the backend of your site or view your account to take a closer look.
Bluehost has live chat support, which is likely what you used in this case. I would recommend reaching out to them again for help:
https://www.bluehost.com/contact
Again, as @justjennifer indicated, if you used live chat at another company that was NOT Bluehost, you may have fallen victim to a scam. Bluehost support should be able to help you regain access to your site and help secure it to not allow this to happen again.
I hope this points you in the right direction.

You had asked for the website involved, not the WordPress account. As mentioned in my previous comment, it’s comical just how fast you dismiss the prospect of this actually being relevant to WordPress. As predicted and mentioned just moments ago, you’ve attempted to pass this off to another company.
My issue has been very specific to WordPress- sad to see the paper trail of sidestepping that’s is evident. However, I do get comfort knowing others will see this and reflect on the poor responses.
Let me be very specific- my WordPress account has been infiltrated and I’ve been seeking support to address it and advise how to move forward. Please be more open to this in the future.

Hi there,
You had asked for the website involved, not the WordPress account. As mentioned in my previous comment, it’s comical just how fast you dismiss the prospect of this actually being relevant to WordPress.
I agree that this issue is relevant to WordPress as that is the product you are using, but you are reaching out to WordPress.com, a managed hosting platform. There are many places that host WordPress sites, and Bluehost hosts your particular self-hosted site. We do not have access or provide live chat support to WordPress sites or accounts other than the ones that are hosted with us.
As @justjennifer provided, the differences between WordPress.org and WordPress.com can be found here:
https://wordpress.org/support/article/wordpress-vs-wordpress-com/
Can you provide me the URL used or link you clicked to start live chat? I can definitely confirm the company’s association with any reputable hosting platform.
Thanks!
