stolen material now password protected
-
A few months ago I had two WordPress bloggers lift an entry of mine (I also use WP) and post it onto their blogs. This was done in spite of my copyright statement clearly stating they could not do this. Now they have put that material on “password protected” so that they can share this info with anyone they wish WITHOUT my permission.
Do I have any recourse? If so, what is it and how do I proceed?

If they are publishing the password then you could file a DMCA complaint.
If they’re not publishing the password, then they’re not really publishing the material, in which case there’s not much worth worrying about.

If the blogs are hosted by WordPress.com, not just using WP software, you could contact staff, which will look at the blogs and decide if the material is stolen or not. I expect they’ll also want a DMCA notice.
