Stolen Passwords to WordPress Blog

I haven’t found anything here about how to recover passwords or regain control over a hacked blog hosted on wordpress.com.

The issue is that our organization had a blog which a malicious employee retained control over after resigning from the organization. The former employee then changed the passwords. What is our possible recourse? I prefer not to list the blog here in the forum.

You will need to work with the staff – they will need you to prove that you are the proper owners of the blog. This is easiest done if you own the email account used to create the blog / account.

I will flag this for staff attention – they will probably email you at the account you posted to here – they will also reply in this thread with instructions for you.

  • Blogs are the property of the user who registered them, unless they chose to transfer ownership to someone else.

What is the URL of the blog? If you’re the owner, I can restore your access, but if this “malicious employee” is the owner, then the blog is entirely their property.
