Stop the import
-
I’ve been trying to import a WordPress export file from my wordpress.org site. It has been spinning for a long time. Can you stop the process? Is it possible to tell my why it wouldn’t import?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi corunner,
I’ve reset the importer on megzo.wordpress.com so please refresh the page and try again. You may need to clear your browser cache if the import still appears to be running now I’ve reset everything.
15MB is the maximum supported file size for imports, so you’ll want to make sure the .xml file isn’t any larger than that.
Let me know how you get on.

Thanks so much gemmacevans.
I tried another import (xml file size 9.7MB) and it looks like it is hanging again. Any thoughts on what is causing that?

How is your connection? Try running a speed test and resetting the network.
When did you start the import? It can take up to 24 hours to complete.

Thanks lizkarkoski. The connection is okay. No issues there. I started this morning, so it sounds like I need to be more patient. I wish there was some status indicator. :-) I’ll give it 24 hours and report back.

Hello again – unfortunately, the import is still running after 24+ hours. Any chance you can tell if it’s actually processing or if the import is hung up?

That’s weird. The site still looks like the import failed (or never occurred). There are none of the posts from the import. When I got to the settings (Import), the wheel is still spinning.

That’s interesting, I’m not seeing anything in progress on our side. Could try importing from your WP Admin Dashboard instead? This link will take you through to the right place:
