Stop Words and SEO
-
I am using Yoast SEO for WP. It suggests I not use Stop Words in my title. However, I can’t find any hard evidence that stop words are punished by Google in search results. Furthermore, try writing an article without stop words (so that Yoast SEO can find your keywords in your article) and you end up with jibberish.
For instance (this is for a medical-related blog) Yoast doesn’t want me using High Cholesterol AND Triglycerides, it wants me to use “high cholesterol triglycerides.” This would be akin to writing “I asked the waitress for soup crackers spoon” instead of the natural English, “I asked the waitress for soup, crackers, and a spoon.”What the ?! Does anyone know how important stop words actually are? Anyone have any direct insight from Yoast about whether this is just a flaw in their algorithm, or what?
Thanks
