Hello! I just upgraded from the free site to the personal site. The reason I did this is that I had used up the allotted 1 GB of storage on my free blog. The Personal upgrade promised 6 GB. But on my dashboard, it says I have already used 50% of my storage. How is that possible?

Looking at your site, it looks like you started it back in June 2009! That’s amazing! Thanks for being an active blogger this whole time. :D
For the storage question, free sites launched before 31 March 2021 included 3 GB of storage, and sites opened after that had only 1 GB. Since you had launched your site way before that change, you had 3 GB of storage available. When you exhausted your 3 GB of storage, this prompted the upgrade and your new limit is 6 GB. This is also why it shows that it’s 50% used already.
The good news is that this upgrade should last you a long time since it took 14 years to get to 3 GB! :)
