storage of offline blog

  hi i was wondering if its possible to suspend my blog from appearin g on the internet at all or is there a way of storing the content offline- can i make a copy of my blog? i wish to review and do a new one but i still want the connections from my existing blog. pls advise. thank you. c cohen

  You can make your blog private. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  IMPORTANT NOTE: Making a blog private or deleting blog content does not remove the indexed content in it from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months.

  Hello, I would like to do the same: take the site completely offline until I change my plans.
  Also, I want to be able to keep the data that I have created already.
  What i need though is a message saying to the person who is trying to reach the URL: “the website is offline”.
  I do not want “the website is private and you need a password”.
  is it possible?
