    Hi,

just wanted to know when i see the percentage of storage space I have is to calculate how many posts I have until I have to go premium?

That percentage shows you how much storage space you are using. You are currently using 2% of your upload limit (64.1 MB out of 3.0 GB) — with 78 photos. The posts you write aren’t deducted from that, just the files you upload.

when I delete a photo from my media library, at times it will delete from the blog

When you insert an image into a post, it is referencing the file you uploaded to your media library. So it if you delete the file from there, the file URL won’t exist anymore and the image won’t be displayed.

Your blog will be displaying the image from your media library. So if you delete the photo, it won’t be able to find the file.

or take really long to load, not only on my browser but on others and phones as well

Slow loading images can be due to a slow connection speed — especially on phones. Some of the images you’ve uploaded are quite large (2500px x 1500px) so that would have an impact on loading times too.

Let me know if you have any questions!

    Hi Gemma,

Thanks for your response, it was very helpful. So would I need to upgrade to premium in order to have a larger storage space?

You can double your Media Library storage by upgrading to the Personal plan, which is cheaper than Premium.

But did you read what @gemmacevans said? You have only used 2% of your storage so you have a long way to go before you exhaust your available space. Large images do slow loading times though. I suggest you optimize images for the web before uploading.

    Optimize Your Images

    Hi bonniewanders,

So would I need to upgrade to premium in order to have a larger storage space?

If you wanted more than 3GB of space the Free plan provides you with, you could upgrade. This page shows the amount of storage you get with each plan:

However, you’ve only used 2% of your 3GB, so don’t need to upgrade at the moment. As themagicrobot mentioned, image optimization is a way you can reduce the file size of your images and save storage space.
