Is there a plan that includes the ability to have an online store for selling photo prints and other items?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
You can sell your products on your site using PayPal. For more information on setting up a PayPal button or link in your content, please see the following support guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/view-all/
However, if you want to have a full-fledged online store, your best bet would be to install WooCommerce on your site. To learn more about this comprehensive eCommerce platform, visit https://woocommerce.com/.
You may be able to install it on your WordPress.com site if you purchase the Business plan upgrade. I am adding the tag “modlook” to this thread so that staff can clarify that for us.

Thank you so much. I would like to have it set up as a full store rather than a link to an Etsy shop. I plan to buy an upgrade to use my domain name, so I want to be sure I get one that I can use with a store. Much appreciated and I will look into woocommerce. 😊

Hi notforsaleamerica,
I plan to buy an upgrade to use my domain name, so I want to be sure I get one that I can use with a store.
The Business plan will enable you to install the WooCommerce plugin. Once the plugin has been installed, your products and orders can be managed from the WP Admin dashboard — you can access this dashboard by adding /wp-admin/ to the end of your URL.
Let me know if you need any more information :)

One more question for now. Is it best to purchase the domain name through godaddy then use it on my WordPress or bigger to upgrade my WordPress and get the domain name through this site? If I get it through the upgraded WordPress plan then decide one day to take my site off, will I still retain the domain to use in the future elsewhere if need be?
-
The answer is that any new domain name you register can be used in the future with any web hosting provider, regardless of whether you buy the domain name on WordPressdotcom as a part of a plan or through a different domain registrar, such as GoDaddy.
Hope that is clear. Let us know if you need anything else.

So while it states that a custom domain name would be included with the personal plan, when I try and map one to the site it tells me I have to upgrade to the premium plan. Does the personal plan not allow my domain name use?
-
Yes, you can map a domain you already own by purchasing the Personal plan (first), but remember as staff-frank and @gemmacevans said earlier, only the Business plan will enable you to use the WooCommerce plugin.
-
OK great. Thank you. I just want to get the domain name there for now and will update to the plan to get the store up and running within a few months.

Great! Paid plans also include some additional support options:
If you need any help once you’ve upgraded, you can reach us using Live Chat and email support too :)
Thanks for your help @justjennifer, @themagicrobot and staff-frank!

Thank you all very much. Domain name purchased and WordPress plan will be upgraded tomorrow. You are all wonderful. The support here is perfect. I shoot mostly with a 1963 camera. So, the online digital stuff isn’t my specialty. Haha. But I’m catching up slowly.
