Storefront Paragraph Background Opacity

  Hi, I’ve built a Storefront site and the homepage has a simple image with a paragraph of text on it. I’d like to change the background of the paragraph to black (the text colour is white) and then reduce the opacity of the background so that it is semi-transparent enabling the text to be more clearly seen. As far as I can see, using the WordPress editor I can change the background colour relatively easily but I am unable to change the opacity. Can you help please?
