Hi Gill.
Embeds from Storify and Steller aren’t currently supported here at WordPress.com, however, I’ve added your request to our internal ideas tracker. We’ll monitor the demand for such embeds for future projects.
Can you let me know if there’s any specific parts of the publishing experience on Storify and Steller that you aren’t able to replicate when creating a post here at WordPress.com? I’ll be happy to help and pass on your feedback, if so.

Hmm. I can’t embed tweets without bringing in the ‘parent’ tweet, even when it suggests on Twitter that I should be able to by ticking or not ticking a box. And the ability to flip through the pages on Steller.

Thanks for the feedback, Gill! The flipbook effect that you can create with Steller isn’t available with WordPress.com, but I’ve made a note of that in our internal ideas tracker too.
You can, however, embed Tweets without bringing in the ‘parent’ Tweet by adding the hide_thread=’true’ parameter to the Twitter shortcode, as described in our support documentation here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/twitter/twitter-embeds/#embedding-with-a-shortcode
An example of how a shortcode with this parameter added to it will look is here:
[tweet https://twitter.com/example/status/example hide_thread='true']Let me know if you have any questions around that.
