story submissions?

Hello! I’m trying to make a place for people to submit stories to our blog-site. Ideally, I’d like the stories to be submitted anonymously, since this will include stories from young women. I thought I could do that in contact but maybe not?

Cool idea. Yes, you can make sure this is submitted anonymously through a contact form. I see that you already have set up a form on the Submit a story page. To make it anonymously, I would remove all the fields except the Comment field, and I would rename this field Enter your story here, or something like that.

If you’re unsure of how to do this, please follow these steps:
1 – log in to your wp-admin panel at https://hewittvoicesofcolor.wordpress.com/wp-admin
2 – in the menu to the left, click Pages > All pages
3 – Click on your Contact page
4 – Since you already have a contact form inserted here, to edit this, there should be a link in the tool section at the top that’s called Add contact form (or something similar). Click this.
5 – Now an edit field of your form will appear. To the right of every input field, there is a minus sign. Click this for all the input fields, except the Comment field. Now you’ve removed the need for the visitor to give up any information about themselves, and therefore made it an anonymously.
6 – I would also rename the Comment field. Hover your mouse cursor over the field, and an Edit link will appear. Click this. In the Label field, write a new name, like Enter your story here for example. Click Save this field when you’re satisfied with the name for this field.
7 – When you’re satisfied with how the form looks, click on the Add this form to my page link.
8 – go back to your Submit a story page and check that it works. Now visitors can send you stories, without saying anything about who they are.Hope this helps. If not, let me know!

One thing you should be aware of though, is that in the email that is sent to you, you will get to see what IP address the message is sent from.
