STOW – Static home page – Featured Image not optimizing for tablet or mobile

I love this theme, but my home page image won’t adjust to mobile or tablet view. It zooms in, rather than displaying the full image.

I’ve created the image to the right size specs (2000 x 1200 pixels) but I seem to be missing a setting as it doesn’t display correctly.

Help?

Hi there,

the image is not responsive,
use this line of css to stop it from zooming out and let us know if you still have issues

```

Hi there, hope you don’t mind me adding to this discussion. If you have a paid WordPress.com upgrade that includes CSS editing, please give @therefoiam’s suggestion a try.

However, looking at the Cover Block support guide at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/cover-block/ it mentions this:
Tips for Choosing an Image

Decorative or abstract images work best since the full image may not always display.

Type any text on top of the image, as opposed to designing the text inside the image itself. This ensures it will scale effectively for all screen sizes.

The Cover block uses the image as a background image, and will not resize to show the entire image width on different size devices. If you have content in the image that needs to be displayed for all device sizes, you would want to use an Image block instead.
Hope that helps clarify where the cover block is best used.
