Strang “Like” on Homepage
-
On my WordPress homepage I was excited to see that a blogger had “liked” the page. However, I quickly changed my mind when I clicked the thumbnail pictures. It shows an attractive woman with her hand on her chest. The page is a Gravatar webpage with the profile name of “canthidethem”. It’s supposedly part of the Automattic company.
How do I remove this? It doesn’t seem appropriate.
Thank you,

Hello. Thank you for your response.
It’s actually a “like” that shows up on the bottom of my homepage. This is the link of where the “like” takes you. https://en.gravatar.com/canthidethem
This is what I’m trying to remove.
Thank you. -
Hi there,
If you wish you can disable “likes” on your site by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/likes/#turn-likes-on-off-across-your-site
If you prefer to turn off likes on pages (like your homepage) but still have them enabled for blog posts, you can set that by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/likes/#turn-likes-on-off-on-specific-posts-or-pages
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Hello. Thank you for getting back to me.
I would like to leave the “likes” for the page turned on. I really just want to get rid of this one specific “like”. Do you know if there is a way to do that?
I’m not sure why Gravatar.com has this on my site. Are they affiliate with WordPress?
Thanks for the help.

There is not. The only way an individual like can be removed is if the person who liked the post unlikes it.

WordPress.com associates an Avatar with your email address. Gravatar powers the user avatars on WordPress.com so your WordPress.com and Gravatar accounts are linked automatically. Gravatar is also owned and operated by the same parent company that owns WordPress.com: Automattic.
But, it really sounds like what you have is a “like spammer” – spam likes are pretty innocuous compared to comment spam and they’ll eventually get bored and move on. If certain user accounts abuse likes too much, we have systems in place to handle those as well.
I hope that clarifies things!
