Strange email addresses that are now following my site

    Over the past few days I have started to get a number of followers to my site that have no wordpress blog just an email address. They all are Outlook email addresses such as:
    (email visible only to moderators and staff) .

    I have searched Google for these addresses but nothing comes up. My site doesn’t have a huge following and so a series of followers joining all at once does start to raise some questions. Any Suggestion as to whether these are legit or not?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi simonmarchini,

    WordPress.com is aware of this issue and working on it. As part of fixing this they are also removing the spam follows, so you don’t need to remove them manually unless you want to.

    Hi there!

    You aren’t the only one this has been happening to. We have a thread, here, that has all the updates from staff, that will be keeping track of whats going on, and will inform you.

    No worries, because your site is not exposed to these spammers, and you don’t need to worry about your account getting exposed, as the spammers have no pose to your site itself or your WordPress.com account. We know this is very annoying, but there are developers right now trying their best to try and fight these spammers. You can subscribe to the topic for future updates by going to the sidebar and you’ll see “Notify me of followup posts via e-mail”. Check it, so you can get notified when the staff say something about this.
