  Why am I getting notifications with just someone’s email?

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  Hi,

  Can you give us any more information? What site is sending you these emails? What are you seeing that indicates WordPress.com is sending these emails?

  Status

  …and check your email address, do you see any subscriptions set to email you?

  I do see my email, (email visible only to moderators and staff), but I don’t remember signing up for anything.
  Here’s an example of what I’m getting:

  Name: Jeanna Massman
  Does this make sense?

  Please take a screenshot of the whole email message, as @staff-totoro suggested, so we can better understand where those messages originate.

  Hmm, those notifications aren’t coming from us. They’re coming from that site, which is not a WordPress.com site, but instead a site using the software from WordPress.org and hosted on InMotion.

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities, so we have no control over that: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

  In this case, I recommend contacting the site via https://chrysteenbraun.com/contact/ to let them know.

  Well, I think I’m a dumbbell, as when I go there it takes me to my website. I think this is the notification that I’m getting email subscribers to my newsletter via the website. I’m verifying this with my web gal, and if so, yippee. Sorry to have bothered you all!!!

  Ok, sorry for the confusion.

  WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  And in this case, I recommend asking at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/#new-topic-0

  Just to clarify, any emails that we send would come from the wordpress.com domain name. Any emails sent from your site’s domain name are coming from the WordPress.org software.
