Strange header appearance

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

After an update, my header has an old setting I used to use. It is an ugly top-and-bottom double line the goes above and below the header logo. I used it several months ago but it came back all of a sudden and I can’t figure out how to get rid of it. Can anyone help?

Here is a link to a screenshot: null

    Thanks

    Hi there

after an update, my header has an old setting I used to use

I am sorry you are having these difficulties.

it came back all of a sudden

From what i can tell, when you updated your Hostgator site, the old version came back.

I would recommend you ask Hostgator if there is a recent (before your update) archive of your data. If they can restore it, you then save the version you like, re-update, then restore your data to the updated site.

There is not much we here can do for you with this, since the site in question is not hosted here at WordPress.Com, rather at Hostgator.

There are many differences between sites hosted here at WordPress.Com and “self-hosted” sites like your site at Hostgator. The following links describe the differences better than i can:

https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ explains many of the differences between self-hosted and sites hosted at WordPress.Com
https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_vs_WordPress.com is a more who is who explanation.

https://wordpress.org/support/ They have the expertise to help you with your Hostgator hosted site, you might get a better answer there.

    Hope this helps!
    dave (diggin’ the funk)
