Strange Message in Reader

  I have the following message in the Reader:

  Oops!
  This is a post on a private site that you’re following, but not currently a member of. Please request membership to display these posts in Reader.

  As there’s no indication of what blog has been made private, I then clicked on each blog I am following and absolutely none of them have been made private! I logged out, cleared my (Chrome) cache, logged back in and it still appears.

  I’ve taken a screenshot which is here:

  I presume it’s an error message of some sort but I’ve no idea why it has appeared, or how to get rid of it.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Val,

  That error message can also show if a post was deleted or set to private after it was already cached in the Reader. I don’t see that post in your Reader stream any more, so it looks like the Reader has updated already. If you still see it, try pressing Ctrl-F5 to refresh, and it should go away.

  Many thanks, Kokkieh. And, yes, it does seem to be gone now. By the way (and I hope you don’t mind) I had a support question you addressed some months back but which is happening again but in a different blog.   and the blog I’m seeing it in now is https://greenandfolk.wordpress.com/

  You had to adjust a widget last time – if it’s the same cause could that be done this time, too? I’d appreciate it, thanks.

  Huh. I don’t have any recollection of how I fixed it last time :D

  But there appears to be several report of this happening now, so it might not be the same issue. I’ve reported this to our developers so the cause can hopefully be fixed.

  Btw, I just looked at the blogroll again and it’s full of kokkie and wordpress related sites…. :( This is weird…

  Good news. The cause of this has just been fixed.

  That’s probably due to me trying to fix it earlier, but that’s fixed now. Thanks for reporting this.
