strange redirect referrer
-
I’ve gotten a lot of hits today on an old post, and just noticed this strange referrer relating to it showing up in my stats:
193.192.204.40:8100/Redirect/raincoaster.com/2006/11/22/ekranoplan-worlds-strangest-airplane/
Now, when I click on it it goes to a plain redirect page and then straight to the post my blog. Is this a WordPress thing? Is somebody hijacking my post? What’s up with this? The number of clicks from that referrer are 1/9th the number of hits on that post today, if it matters. -
Well the IP address is out of England. Registered space is at The Design Solution. Contact information here.
Note to staff. It’s interesting that you can’t pull up this site unless you put in the ‘www’ into the URL.
I’m wondering if it’s some sort of proxy server on their end.
Hope this helps,

Thanks, I appreciate that. I have a lot of English readers, so maybe it’s just that it’s going through their proxy server. At least it counts as a hit!

I’m wondering if it’s related to this comment by “RonnieM” in another thread: both happened the same day, but I can’t find Ronnie’s URL now.

Someone in the off-topic “what do you do thread” mentioned they were an architect. Can’t remember who though!
-
the 8100 in the original link suggests some sort of back-end application rather than web-side.

The architect is sunburntkamel and the IP that he or she posted from does not match up with either one of those.
Good catch though. :)

So I have a mystery architect caching my blog? And interested in old Russian ground effect vehicles? Weirdness.

And I have another strange referrer. They’ve been good for four hits today, so that’s great, whoever they are. What is strange about them is that it’s not a real URL.
It’s http://horus/
That’s it. I realize there’s a university technology project named Horus, but the English on their website is so bad that I’m assuming it’s a joke of some kind. Does anyone have any ideas what would give a referrer that isn’t in fact a website?
