Strike Through Ability
-
Hi
I would like the ‘Strike Through” ability when using my blog. Is this a possible addition to the other text modifications?
What i mean is that I would like to write something, then rather than change my mind and delete it, I could just use the ‘strike through’ option, which shows the original intent but then also the modified intent.
Cheers

You already have that in the post/page editor:

And please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here, or link your nickname to your blog (as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know Before Posting). We usually need that to give a relevant answer.

Ahh, sorry, my blog is at
And my nick is TravellingStrom
Now, I do not get those options when I post a page or a post. I am using the HTML editor, not the Visual editor, so that particular option is not available for some reason.
I am using HTML becsue I post a lot of photos, it is hard to do any editing with the pictures in that small box if I use the Visual editor.
Can that Strike Through be set up in HTML editor please?
Cheers

No, you will have to either switch to the visual editor to do the strikethrough and then switch back, or do it using HTML

OK, thanks, I did not know the code for strike through, so I will try that. It is nearly impossible for me to do it using visual editor.
Thanks for the help

There are a few of things you can do to increase the size of the Visual Editor if you want:
1. Set up the editing page’s screen options to only have two columns and then minimize the toolbar on the left to a single row of icons If you really want extra width, hide all the tabs you don’t use, and then make a single column. http://support.wordpress.com/custom-post-screen/
2. Increase the size of the Post Editing box by going to Dashboard>>Settings>>Writing and then change “Size of the Post Box” to about 35 lines or more. Alternately, you can drag the lower right hand corner of the box, but only in Visual Editor.
3. Go Full Screen: Click on the Full Screen button in the top row of the Visual Editor. It’s icon #14. If you don’t have two rows of icons in the Visual Editor, click on the “Kitchen Sink” button, icon #15. The “full screen” button is a toggle button, so when you want to come out of the full screen mode, hit it again.
HTH!

Thanks JustJennifer for your info, it would seem to me that adding the relevant buttons in the HTML side of editing, would be very helpful.
I of course have now looked at the Visual editor again and seen all th eextra stuff, but if you see what I post, there is no way I can use it when posting the amount of images I use.
I see the bit about full screen and may give that a bit of a run, so thanks for that.
Cheers

Hey you are welcome.
I think many people don’t know (or forgot) that they can customize their WP experience, even though that was what the entire upgrade to WordPress was about. :)
