Stripping of attribute values containing colons make microformats impossible

    I am trying to be a good girl and use the del/ins tags as well as add microformats formatting to my blog posts wherever it’s appropriate, but it turns out to be quite challenging due to the apparent attribute filtering taking place at WP.com:

    <del datetime="2008-12-04T10:50:52+00:00"> (as created by clicking the buttons in the entry toolbar) turns into <del datetime="00"> (which of course does not specify the correct date/time) and <abbr title="2008-12-10T18:3000" class="dtstart"> is reduced to <abbr title="3000" class="dtstart">. Which of course also doesn’t translate into the date/time I wanted.

    How does one create correct microformats HTML code on WordPress.com?
    Will I just have to move to a WP.org solution in order to use microformats?
