Structure Homepage

    Hi,

I am in the process of exploring and setting up Structure for use as a website, rather than a blog, and am having great difficulty with the homepage.

I have selected a feature image, but can’t seem to get it to show up on my static homepage (which isn’t called “home”, it is called דף הבית). I am not even seeing the gray box which other people seem to be having an issue with. All I have is the text which I wrote.

I would also like to know how to remove the “Archives” and “Meta” widgets from the right side.

Finally, how do I write in the header on the homepage? In this space in the demo it says “Featured Images in the Structure Theme”. I can’t figure out how to get this to appear, and where to insert the text.

Should I create a new page entitled home? I chose Structure because I want to be able to use the featured homepage.

Thank you all very much for your time and willingness to help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The homepage top area shows on your main posts page, not on a static page. If you want the homepage top area, you should go to Settings>Reading and set your front to display your latest posts.

Hi. It looks like you set up a static front page for your blog. Is this correct?

Meanwhile, I suggest you study this article carefully:

Thanks for getting back to me, everyone. I would like a static front page that ALSO displays the featured image/three column layout/header. Can a static home page also be set as the posts page?

I would also like to know how to fix the footer area. I would like each widget in its own box, not connected to the others but standing independently as is shown in the Structure example. Currently, my footer widgets have all merged into a big black box which is not attractive at all.

Thank you all for any suggestions and for your time!

“I would like a static front page that ALSO displays the featured image/three column layout/header. Can a static home page also be set as the posts page?”

Already answered above: The homepage top area shows on your main posts page, not on a static page.

“I would like each widget in its own box, not connected to the others but standing independently as is shown in the Structure example.”

Which Structure example are you talking about?
