structure theme – i only want two columns, is that possible?
-
hello i am new to blogging on wp, i recently chose the structure theme bc i like the minimal aesthetic, but i am having trouble trying to change the 3-column option into a 2-column layout. the “new theme” page: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2010/04/27/new-theme-structure/ says that it “switches” from 3 to 2 columns, but i dont see an option for that anywhere unless it just means when i click on a post (i.e. read more) that the expanded “full width” of the post is 2 columns. is the front page always going to be 2 columns on the top featured half and 3 columns on the latest posts underneath?
i would like to only have a column for posts and another for widgets, if this is unattainable in structure, might i get some recommendations for clean, minimally aesthetic themes that will let me have 2 columns?
thank you

Hi and welcome to WordPress.com. I believe that yes, that’s how Structure is made. The front page looks different (almost like an electronic magazine, I’d say) and when you click on a post, it switches to a simple two-column layout, but you probably noticed it by now.
If you want a theme with only two columns at all times, you may want to choose another theme. There are over 70 two-column themes, and some of them are minimalist. I recommend you browse through the themes from your Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and select a Feature Filter on the right to “two-columns”.
Hope it helps and happy blogging!

@catzuella
The top section has 2 columns. The bottom section has 3. You will benefit from reading this post: Introduction to the Structure Theme -
