struggling to 'Like' or 'Reblog' posts

For the last couple of months, I’ve been struggling with ‘liking’ and ‘reblogging’ posts. I used to use the WordPress app on iPhone, but that feels very random now. I log in on my Mac, same problem: every now and again, i will be able to ‘visit’ a site from within ‘Reader’ and ‘like’ but mostly I just get a small white pop up box that appears and disappears, and my Like is not registered.
I can be logged in to my own site with no problems, but then when i go to reader, all of a sudden it tells me i need to log in, but when i enter my username/password, nothing happens.
I’ve tried deleting the app on my phone, reinstalling, deleting cache, no difference. Same problem on Mac.
Even on sites I’m following, it says i’m not logged in, but still won’t let me log in, yet i have no trouble updating my own website.
I want to share and comment (can’t even log in to do that), but I can’t. I can’t seem to discern a pattern as to why every now and again i will be able to Like and Reblog, but mostly not. Sometimes I can Like a post from within reader, but not if I visit the post.It’s driving me round the bend.

Hi there,
This is due to Safari’s privacy settings.
Safari by default blocks websites from tracking you, and that prevents us from detecting that you’re logged into your account unless you’re on WordPress.com itself.
Go to Safari preferences ->Privacy, and uncheck the box next to “Prevent cross-site tracking”
Then clear your browser cookies and log back in.
I’m not sure if mobile Safari has a similar setting, but if you’re getting the same problems on your iPhone, that’s likely the cause there as well.

Hmmm. This helps on my Mac somewhat. I can reblog now, but often i have to hit the reblog button several times.
